I have been very fortunate to visit the wonderful San Juan Islands but it has been a number of years.  I plan to take a road trip with my daughter this summer with my daughter (12 years old) and plan to spend at least 5 days on San Juan Island.  We will be bringing our bikes and camping gear.  Would love to hear about great camping places as well as bike trails to head out on. I do plan to take her whale watching and sea kayaking as well.  Any recommendations on the best company to use for these adventures would be greatly appreciated. Smiley

With regards to hiking; don't miss Mount Young.

Mount Young

Another nice hike with expansive views on San Juan Island is Mount Finlayson .  Great views of South Beach and cattle point.

Roche Harbor mausoleum is another interesting spot that is a short hike into the forest.  A mystical and esoteric mausoleum built by a high-ranking mason.

And here are a couple different places to camp on San Juan Island .

Thank you for visiting the islands message board... please feel free to ask any other questions and enjoy your stay in the San Juans! Grin

Here is another camping option that you might find interesting, it is called "Glamping", which means glamorous camping... watch the below video to learn all about it.
