open Sundays, etc.

Hi,
We're going to Seattle in mid-Sept and are planning to visit Friday Harbor for a day (ferry with Grayline that includes some whale watching on the way). We'll just have a couple of hours in Friday Harbor.
*We're wondering whether to do it on a Sat or a Sunday. Are things open on Sunday? museums, galleries, etc.
*Is it worth it to rent a bike for just about an hour?
*Is there a place near where we get off the boat to rent bikes?
*Is there anything you think we should really plan to see or do in our couple of hours?
Thanks!

Sorry I missed your message... there will be plenty of stuff to do around downtown without needing a bike. The whale museum is open every day except for some holidays. In September the historical Museum in Friday Harbor is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
September is still a very popular tourism month in the San Juan Islands so you'll find most attractions wide open for business.
Don't miss list in downtown Friday Harbor:
the whale museum, galleries, historical Museum, a walk on the docks at the port of Friday Harbor ( you might see Popeye the seal ), and lunch overlooking the harbor at Downriggers Restaurant.
