History of Reef Island

does anyone have any suggestions on how to acquire history on an Island? My Aunt owned Reef Island in the 50s and Id love to learn about the pastt and present status of this Island

I believe the Journal of the San Juan Islands has put all of their back issues of their newspapers online however I don't think they are searchable yet.

I believe the University of Washington also has a similar system that is searchable... I spent a few minutes trying to find it but was unable to.

Also Google books allows you to search the text of millions of books... maybe it will find something.
