Hope you can help. I saw an article in Sunset mag. about one of the islands, can't remember which one. It had a picture of these vast beaches with worn sea stacks, It's at the end of a trail. If I remember right, it was at the  tip of the island. I think it's called San Josef bay trail. Coming up to visit would love to seem them.
thanks JC

I don't think we have any sea stacks in the San Juan Islands... I did a Google search to confirm this and was unable to find any.  There are many sea stacks in the Northwest and perhaps the article that you read about the San Juan Islands mentioned the sea stacks located somewhere else.

That being said we do have many great trails and beaches to explore.

When are you planning on coming to the Islands?  And where are you coming from?

The trail and the sea stacks are on Vancouver Island.  See pictures and a writeup at:  http://paperseed.wordpress.com/2007/09/11/day-3-san-josef-bay-seastacks-bears-vows-other-oddities/
