Hi. I wanted to know if there are sites with photos of Friday harbor for people looking to move there? I've seen lots of youtube videos of ferries and whales but I'm more interested in apartments and neighborhood shots. How about the area around Friday Harbor Village apartments? Supermarkets, clothing stores etc. Stuff OTHER than the regular touristy locations would be great. Since I live on the east coast looking at houses isn't what I want, I'd rather be in an apartment. Any help?

I think your best bet for "local" photos would be keeping a close eye on the local bloggers or by searching this website http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Friday%20Harbor&w=all

I like the idea though; photos and information that really put you on the ground in everyday life for an Islander.

There are several apartments/condominiums in Friday Harbor all within walking distance of downtown.  Of course everyone's idea of walking distance is a little bit different.

We have a couple supermarkets; one is located two or three blocks uptown... it is cheaper and bigger and favored by most locals.  King's market is downtown right on Spring Street.  Website:http://www.kings-market.com/market.html

A good resource for busnesses is maps.google.com then search for Friday Harbor, WA then Find Businesses and ask it for dry cleaning or groceries or whatever.

Also the chamber of commerce offers a relocation package.  Probably a good thing to get tho I don't know what's in it.  http://www.sanjuanisland.org/  Their website also has a video on parking in Friday Harbor which shows you some of the town.

You Tube has a couple of videos on Friday harbor.  youtube.com then search for "friday harbor"
